Young Marists in Brisbane

Young Marists in Brisbane exists as an outreach of the Marist Ministries Office of the Marist Brothers' Sydney Province in Australia. We are based at the Lavalla Centre which is situated on the former site of Marist College Rosalie which provided Catholic education to boys in the Marist way for eighty years until its closure at the end of 2008.

Young Marists aims to enable and animate a network of young adults who share some kind of connection to the Marist story (for example, former students and young teachers of Marist schools), but also those who have been attracted to the Marist charism at some point in their lives. In addition to the regular events held at the Lavalla Centre, Young Marists in Brisbane also provide the opportunities for retreats where young adults can deepen their spirituality and awareness of their place in the world. We also offer links to immersion opportunities to communities abroad (particularly throughout the Pacific region), as well as to indigenous communities in Australia.
